At Devil’s Grief, we are a new and welcoming roleplay site centered around the events taking place during, what could be seen as the aftermath of the breakout of a 'zombie apocalypse.' However, unlike popular media and the common trope, this infection seems to react differently with those involved, affecting both animals and people alike. What's the strangest is that not all those who get infected will turn into a brainless, infected creature. Despite these hardships of life and the loss of loved ones, family, and friends, small towns have reemerged and sprouted back up within the eastern half of the state of Virginia. Tensions waver, but these towns are not always at each other's throats; perhaps if times are good, you can visit them, meet new friends, and trade for beneficial supplies! It may be a struggle to survive, but perhaps it's not all bad.
Currently, our site houses two unique towns to choose from and the freedom to also create an outsider, divided from the main groups. Join the ocean-side town of Whiteridge, located in the remains of an active boardwalk and beach town. While resources are scarce, this town makes up in a strong sense of community and the ability to easily protect their home. Or perhaps join us in the open fields of Meadowgrove, a group made up of a self-sustaining farm house and the town surrounding it. Reside on the ranch and raise animals and grow crops in return for going to bed with a full stomach, or open a small occupation in the town to purchase and trade for produce and meat.
A large factor of our roleplay is the ability for you to set the story! What happens between groups is dependent on the characters within them, not the pressure from staff. In addition to these two groups and the possibility of adding more in the future, the post apocalyptic setting of Devil’s Grief does include a unique approach to the cliche zombie trope. Instead of rotting, cannibalistic corpses attacking any and all they see, the infected are a lot more passive. often refusing to acknowledge those around them.... at least, most of the time. who knows when they might suddenly jerk into realization and attack with flashing teeth and nails? the infectious virus spreads easily, but it is not always a death wish. those who have been infected have a chance to regain their health and retain their human state instead of a guaranteed transformation. even animals are affected by its effects. every day you wake up is a blessing in itself.
Our community is still small and hoping to only grow larger! And we hope to see you among us some day!
