The Realm of Idris is an online roleplaying chatroom where a friendly and engaging community of roleplayers gather to write epic tales and adventures using collaborative storytelling. Roleplayers write the actions and experiences of their characters to advance the story, as post in the chatroom. Idris values developed characters and various concurrent and interwoven plots, which is why we offer immense creative freedom to our writers and limit single storylines, though this does not exclude large overarching plots which call for a large cast of characters.
The Realm of Idris is a fictional world, influenced by high fantasy, medieval and even supernatural works. The fictional realm of Idris is divided into two continents: Asaland and Arestoneiam. Most of the story in Idris takes place in Asaland, in the very large political entity known as the Eight Kingdoms. The continent actually holds nine regions: The Wintervale, the Red Acre, the Vale of Lothrock, the Sept Isles, Nordstrom, Silanria, Tiratir, Persevia and a largely unmapped region in the north, called the Forbidden Forest. Separated by the Great Divide is the vast continent of Arestoneiam, which is home to a collection of several small kingdoms, free cities, and ancient organizations.
There are also many creatures and fictional elements which inhabit the Realm of Idris. With thousands of years of history behind them, each playable race is unique in their own way with their own gifts and cultures and twist from their modern pop-culture counterparts. There are also a great deal of monsters and mythical beast which are unplayable as primary characters, but very much a part of the story. Be sure to also look out for our various other lores, such as organizations, noble houses, fictional metals and crops and many more.
Before you begin roleplaying in the Realm of Idris, be sure to read the Rules and go over the Terms of Service. It’s also encouraged that you browse the roleplay’s wikia to get some ideas for your character and learn about the story you’re now involved in. Once you’re comfortable with your knowledge of the rules, feel free to start creating your character. You’re allowed to make as many characters as you want, but before you do you’ll want to draft a summary of who they are and what abilities they possess. Talk to an admin about it and if they approve, you’ll be able to begin roleplaying as them. Just remember that from that point, you’ll have to submit a character biography and faceclaim within two weeks, but we’ll help you with that! The most important part is that you enjoy yourself.
