Hunters; a freeform, contemporary game in an alternate history.
The Hunters, protectors of humans and monsters, are the only thing keeping the world together. Peace has reigned for over two centuries, but now, just outside the view of civilian knowledge, something is happening that threatens the harmony. The Hunters are disappearing, and monsters seem to be plotting. The Other World is stirring, and not even the most active and intelligent scientists can tell why, or when it will cause havoc once more.
Life, however, continues. The Hunter Academy marks its annual Summoning Ceremony, where the 10th grade students will finally summon their lifelong partners known as Guardians. Only those with an overabundance of spiritual power can summon their Guardians from the Celestial realm. The only problem? They must do it in front of the world as every human and monster tunes in to the live broadcast. Mess up, and they'll be known as a failure. Of course, succeed and become one of the beings that every child dreams of becoming.
