Vampires have taken over the world. Democracy is a thing of the past as a world of Vampire Kings and Queens rule each city. Pollution reached critical levels throughout the world, and a brilliant inventor erected the first Biodome in Seattle, WA (where this story line is set) that was equipped with the ability to control weather, choose night or day, and block out all pollutants from the outside. After it was successful in Seattle, they were mass produced to other cities, and it made Seattle the richest city in the world.
With the upswing of vampires, lycanthropes were nearly wiped out. A few managed to survive the wars for power, and due to depleting numbers, have stopped fighting vampires for control. Vampires now protect some of the remaining packs for 'the preservation of species' but only in a very few pro-life states (one of which is Seattle).
In 2020, when supernaturals became mainstream and their existence came to the forefront, the war between humans and supernaturals began. The end result was that humans were enslaved and now humans are used in factories and labor positions. The 'gifted elite' of humans (magic users and psychics) are often taken in as pets to supernaturals and treated as honored treasures rather then expendable labor hands. Every year, a lottery is held for all humans over the age of 18. Humans who work hard or do noteworthy tasks, are given extra entrees into the lottery. If they are selected, and they win, they are turned into vampires and are immediately uplifted from poverty to being one of the elite.
Since supernaturals became more obvious, and the church became something that mainly only humans believed in anymore, demons stopped hiding in shadows. They began to make open deals and are now listed in the yellow pages for people willing to trade their soul for a better life. With the confirmation of demons, people took on a more scientific look at angels and it was decided that they, too, were nearly wiped out in the wars (but none of this has been confirmed). In any case, if not dead, uninterested in humanity any longer.
From Hollow Hills (the realm of faes), the fae also came out into the open and began to sell to willing people. They have created a friendly image with the world and have set up small communities within cities (much like chinatown), that host a variety of businesses: mainly trade, export, and the craziest parties in the world. Entry into Hollow Hills by anyone off Earth that isn't fae is forbidden. With the fae coming forward, fae beastiary have also become something of a massive business, as people of Earth all want some of the unique creatures of the fae world. The only species of the fae beastiary that the fae dare not sell are dragons, since dragons are too intelligent to be owned. Dragons are treated like fae by outsiders, but with more awe.
One of the most valuable fae exports (besides creatures) is mirrorstone (which is a mineral unique to Hollow Hills that is touched with fae magic that renders anyone touching it immune to fae striking). They also are known for having the lightest, strongest armor and weapons, though finding a fae blacksmith willing to trade or sell any of it outside of their own kind is seldom and tricky.
Vampires abolished paper money when they took over. Now exchange is in gold coins with the vampire council stamp on the top, and silver or bronze coins.
Beyond the dome cities, the ruling government is no longer a democracy or even a dictatorship anywhere in the world, but rather a monarchy with the exception that the succession isn't decided by birth, but rather appointment by the Vampire Council (The Antediluvians).

What To Expect
We use Slack as a platform to talk to each other out of character. All members of the story line are expected to use it. We do require activity, but it is minimal and based on how many characters you have in the story line. There is a lot of 'resource' information on the website to help you to become comfortable with what kind of world we play in. City of Sin is a Troupe that stays together as a group and plays different story line ideas whenever we get bored with one idea. This story line is rated R because violence will happen. We require members to be 18 or over.
If you're interested, please click on the 'City of Sin' link up top under the image and feel free to read through information provided. If you have further questions, you may contact the admin. We are willing to give invites to our slack channel for interested members if that is easier for you to live chat to us to see if you would fit into our group.
