IRON RULERS - TEXT BASED GRAND STRATEGY
Iron Rulers is a complex Geopolitcal strategy RP in which you are tasked with forming your own nation on a fictional planet and leading it in an open sandbox where anything can happen. We intend to include a fully functional resource system which will allow a global market to emerge, so that trade and commerce will become an important part of the RP. In addition, a comprehensive unit design system will allow you to design all your combat units from the ground up in order to create a military that is tailor made for your nation's needs. The RP will start with 1945 technology, (nuclear bombs, jet aircraft, and computers have just been introduced), and players will have to research and trade technological advances in order to develop their military and economic power.
Feature Summary
A blank canvas: A fictional world means that you can design your nation from the ground up. Fascist dictatorship, Stalinist "republic" or genuine democratic state--it's your choice!
Complex economics and trade: Control taxes and social spending, harvest resources, and trade with other nations.
Totally customisable militaries: Design your own aircraft, ships, and land vehicles, and determine the training and equipment of your ground troops.
Espionage, diplomacy and war: Use whatever means necessary to advance your interests, if you dare!
Tech Tree: Fully fleshed out technology tree which affects your military as well as your economy.
Open sandbox: Unlike a video game, the possibilities are not defined by the systems. Hold international meetings, resolve crises, draw up treaties, redefine borders, create international alliances and organisations, and basically do whatever a national leader could do in real life.
Join up with your friends: Any number of people can be members of one nation. Divide up your roles, (for example, one person runs the army, another person runs the navy, another is in charge of economics) or simply let everyone have an equal say in all matters.
Currently, the forum is a work in progress, however, we want to make sure that at least some people would be interested in the concept before we continue our work. If you're interested, please check out what we have so far and sign up to express your interest--if enough people are willing to get involved, the systems should be completed shortly. If you have any queries, please feel free to PM me on the forum. If you are interested, please don't just wait and see if it works out--this forum will not be completed unless enough people would be willing to join.
